Four Morning Drinks to Improve Blood Glucose and Digestion
If you want to decrease blood glucose levels, have more energy in the morning, avoid insulin spikes throughout the day, and improve digestion, then this article is for you. In it, I’ll share four simple drinks that can help you. These drinks should be consumed on an empty stomach in the morning, which will help you throughout the day. At the end of the article, I’ll also share what you should not drink on an empty stomach in the morning.
Hi, my name is Dr. VI Joshi, and welcome to my YouTube channel. Let’s get started!
Drink 1: Turmeric Water
One of the best drinks to have on an empty stomach in the morning is simple turmeric water. Just take 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric, add it to water, and a pinch of black pepper, and mix it. That’s it. Drink this in the morning to help reduce insulin spikes in the body and decrease inflammation. Turmeric also has antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal effects, making it a great addition to your morning routine.
You can also add one or two pinches of cinnamon. Start without cinnamon, then gradually add it to see how your body reacts. If everything is fine, continue drinking this combination of cinnamon and turmeric in the morning.
Drink 2: Lemon or Lime Water
The second option for a morning drink is lemon or lime water. Just take one teaspoon of lemon or lime juice, mix it in a glass of warm water, and drink it on an empty stomach. This will give you energy throughout the day and help with digestion. It will also balance the pH of your stomach, reducing the risk of gas, bloating, and indigestion. Lemon or lime juice acts as a mild diuretic, helping to reduce water retention and swelling in the body.
Lemon or lime juice can also help balance insulin levels and reduce insulin spikes. If you like, you can mix lemon juice with turmeric water for a powerful morning combination.
Drink 3: Amla Juice
The third option is amla juice, also known as Indian Gooseberry. It is one of the most powerful antioxidants in nature and is rich in vitamin C, which helps your skin shine. Amla juice can help with insulin resistance, reduce inflammation, and support healthy hair. If you have access to fresh amla fruit, you can make your own juice. Otherwise, you can find amla juice in stores or online. Just take 15 to 20 ml, mix it in a glass of water, and drink it on an empty stomach.
Drink 4: Apple Cider Vinegar
The fourth drink, and one of my favorites, is apple cider vinegar. I often prescribe it to patients who suffer from gas, bloating, or indigestion. Apple cider vinegar helps reduce appetite, blood glucose spikes, and is beneficial for those with insulin resistance. It also helps balance the pH of the stomach, making it useful for gas, bloating, indigestion, or acid reflux.
To take apple cider vinegar, mix one tablespoon in a glass of warm water and drink it on an empty stomach in the morning. It’s a good idea to use a straw to avoid contact with your teeth, as prolonged use can cause yellowing.
Conclusion
Now, you might be wondering if you should drink all of these. The answer is no—you should choose the ones that work best for you. You can drink one for a month and then switch to another, or alternate as you like. These drinks are effective, and you’ll notice the benefits in just a few days. Give them a try and let me know your feedback in the comments below.
