Amla: The Best Fruit for Eye Health

I’m going to share with you the name of a fruit that is very beneficial for our eyes. Start consuming this fruit, and things can change for the better. I will also share with you another home remedy that can help with eye issues.

The Best Fruit for Our Eyes

According to holistic medical science, Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry, is the best fruit for eye health. In Ayurveda, this fruit has been described as “chaksushim,” which means it’s very good for the eyes. Any eye-related issues, whether it’s dry eyes, itching, or problems with vision (like short-sightedness or long-sightedness), can benefit from consuming this fruit.

If your screen time is high—which is common in modern life due to computers and mobile devices—Amla can be a boon. Increased screen time can lead to eye strain and other issues. If you want to strengthen your eye muscles, prevent cataracts, or protect your eyes from these issues, start consuming Amla. It’s available worldwide in the form of tablets, powder, or juice. I recommend the powder form, but if you’re not comfortable with powder, you can opt for the juice.

How to Consume Amla

To consume Amla powder, take 2 to 3 grams of it, add 5 grams of honey, and 1 gram of ghee (clarified butter). Mix them all together, and then you can eat it. The honey makes it taste better. This mixture helps with eyesight and also aids digestion. You will notice that your digestion improves when you consume this mixture.

How long should you take it? You can consume this throughout the year without any negative effects—it’s just honey, ghee, and fruit. Amla is very rich in vitamin C, containing almost 20 times more vitamin C than oranges. It’s filled with antioxidants, which are beneficial for your entire body, not just your eyes.

If you prefer Amla in juice form, take 10 milliliters of Amla juice and 10 milliliters of Aloe Vera juice. Mix them with a little water and drink it. This is best consumed in the morning or evening. However, the powder-honey-ghee mixture should only be taken at night, about an hour before going to sleep.

A Home Remedy for Dry Eyes

Now, let’s talk about the second home remedy that I promised you at the beginning of this video. This remedy uses a herb named Shatavari. You might have heard that Shatavari is mainly for women due to its benefits for the uterus, but it also has other functions, including helping with dry eyes.

To use Shatavari for dry eyes, take half a teaspoon of Shatavari powder, and add 1 to 2 teaspoons of ghee (clarified butter). Mix them together, and consume it at night, about an hour before sleep. If you are suffering from dry eyes and you are also a female with menstrual issues, Shatavari can be a good option. Otherwise, if the menstrual cycle is fine, but the eyes are weak, go for Amla powder. Both males and females can use Amla powder in the ways I mentioned earlier.

Conclusion

I hope this video has been helpful for you. See you in the next video with a big smile! Eat right, sleep on time, and believe in Ayurveda—it’s going to change your life. Smile more, stay happy, and stay healthy.
